Then let's work together. But before we do, some basic information.
If you ain't got time for all that nonsense, click here.
I am an artist just like you. I play instruments and make music, both by myself and with others.
I became an engineer because I wanted to make art myself. Therefore, I approach recording from a place of creativity first.
I can and will execute my work to your exact specifications. But my strength is using my ear to craft a sound unique to you.
I like to get to know artists and plan our projects together. I like having conversations about their goals and what inspires them.
If our aspirations and energies don't align, no hard feelings. I am happy to refer you to anyone I think could help you.
All prices for my services listed on this website are based on rates for work done at my studio, Eureka Records. Need a private quote? Send me a message.
A day in the studio with me at Eureka Records is 8 to 10 hours long, and it costs $400.
Why 8 to 10? I like giving day long sessions a little wiggle room to go later if we're really cooking and being productive.
Of course, there are some practical limits as to what you can really get done in a studio session in one day, regardless of how much juice we both have. Part of my job is to give you a straightforward estimate of exactly how much time we'll really need to get your project done, and that really comes from talking to you about what you want to do! So get in touch with me, and we'll figure it out together.
But you don't have to book a whole day in the studio just to work with me on something. I book half days in 4 hour blocks for $200, and below that I am hirable hourly at $65/hr.
Just like with my whole days, I include a little wiggle room on time for half days provided my studio doesn't have another booking right after us.
Ready to record your next project with me? Let's get busy.

In addition to recording together, I can mix and master the projects we work on. I can also mix or master anything else you want to bring to me, too.
I price my mixes at $100 per song.
Why? Well, the process is a little less time-definite than recording work. Some mixes take 15 minutes. Some take 4 hours. Some take 3 days. It's all fine-tuned to the specific needs of your music – even different songs on an album by the same artist might take different amounts of time. And quite frankly, I think it's a little ridiculous to charge for all of that time when it's really the skill of the engineer that you're paying for.
That being said, we can absolutely discuss date-definite deadlines for your projects, and provided I can realistically do it I'll work my ass off for you to make it all happen.
If it comes to be that I'm too busy, I'm more than happy to refer you to other engineers that could do the job and compliment the project.
I price my mastering services at $10 per minute of project length, per project format.
Why length? Well, to put it simply there are 30 minute projects with 20 songs and 30 minute projects with 3 songs. And since mastering is in its most general sense a process that adds polish and cohesion to your project as a whole, the length of the project is really all that matters.
But another really important part of the mastering process is optimizing the project to be listened to on various media formats. 9/10 times, this is just a standard digital audio release, like one you'd put on a CD or stream on Spotify. But depending on the style of music, different mastering processing might need to happen to make the project sound great on vinyl or cassette, and that starts a whole other mastering job. Again, these are things that I'll be better able to sort out for you when we're talking about your project, so contact me early and often with your questions.
